Benjamin Moore's 2021 Color of the Year- Aegean Teal 2136-40 – an intriguing blue-green that creates natural harmony and invites us to reflect and reset.
2020 will not be missed and with it goes last years color pick, First Light, a pale pink that failed to gain popularity. With its vibrant-less hue it may have simply been too reflective of the year it represents.
This years color pick- Aegean Teal 2136-40 – however is an intriguing blue-green that creates natural harmony and invites us to reflect and reset. As we look for ways to brighten our outlook with fresh updates to the spaces we find ourselves spending more time in, Aegean Teal's comforting hue just might be exactly what we need.
“Amid uncertainty, people yearn for stability. The colors we surround ourselves with can have a powerful impact on our emotions and wellbeing,” said Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore Director of Color Marketing & Development. “Aegean Teal 2136-40 and the corresponding Color Trends 2021 palette express a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home.”
This years Aegean Teal is already gaining popularity, prior to Benjamin Moore naming it their pick for 2021. Benjamin Moore may have taken the safe route this year but considering the year we are leaving behind, we can afford them some grace. After all, we could all use some safe in our lives right now.
Don't get me wrong this is a great color and can be very interesting when combined with a midcentury modern approach to design.
